2013 Annual Taste of BASCS: Making Friends - Sharing Culture
October 17, 2013
This annual celebration recognizes all of the diversity among the students, staff and families of BASCS and allows everyone to fellowship with great company, food and music. At Taste of BASCS, all students and faculty are encouraged to share the foods and cultures of the countries of their heritage.
This year, approximately 70 families as well as other invited guests were in attendance at Taste of BASCS. Reflecting the diverse backgrounds of the BASCS family, over 30 tasty foods and desserts were on hand from many different places around the world, including Bhutan, Italy, Mexico, Nepal, Poland, Russia, Somalia, The Philippines, Turkey and the United States. There was an atmosphere of warmth and fun as people “traveled” from one country to the next, sampling both foreign and familiar dishes. Music from all over the world played in the background as the guests ate, enhancing the feeling of being transported to another place. What a great sharing of food, music, culture and friendship!
