Buffalo Academy Of Science Charter School

Shadow Day

Thank you for your interest in BuffSci! Because we know that choosing a new school is an important decision, we offer a Shadow Day to prospective students.

WHAT IS A SHADOW DAY?

A Shadow Day is an opportunity for a middle school or high school student to visit BuffSci for a day to learn what a typical day is like for our students. Seventh through 12th grade students who are in good academic standing at their current school are welcome to arrange a Shadow Day.

WHO CAN I SHADOW?

On your appointed Shadow Day, you will be paired with a BuffSci Student Ambassador and attend classes and activities as if you were a BuffSci student. If you are a sibling of a current BuffSci student, please inform the Admissions Office when you are contacted to arrange your appointment.

WHEN CAN I SHADOW?

A prospective student can shadow at BuffSci any day of the week; however, we will not allow shadows immediately prior to and during New York State Assessments or Final Exams.  If you are requesting to shadow on a particular date, please submit your form at least two (2) weeks in advance to schedule. Otherwise, please submit your form as early as possible to arrange the nearest available date.

Please check with your child's current school office for information on their absentee/tardy policies for students shadowing at a different school.
