Science Olympiad Team Wins Gold and Silver Medals!

     

BASCS Science Olympiad Team did a fantastic job at Niagara Erie Regional Science Olympiad Competition and won 2 GOLD MEDALS and 1 SILVER MEDAL.

* Elchin Aliyev and Airaj M. Naim won GOLD MEDAL in Elevated Bridge
* Akmed Aliyev and Ibraim Shakirov won GOLD MEDAL in Wright Stuff
* Deion Kuykendall and Raymond Smith won SILVER MEDAL in Trajectory.

16 schools participated in the competition. BASCS competed in 3 out of 21 events.read more....


BASCS Annual Poetry Slam Night

The Fifth Annual Charter School Poetry Slam was held on Thursday February 25, 2010 from 6-8pm. The event was a wonderful success and featured student poet competitions, professional acts from Chae Hawk, Toni Benjamin (aka Thunder) and Robert Pomerhn. read more....


BASCS Celebrates Black History Month with a Program

Students at BASCS celebrated Black History Month by attending a program at Shanghai Red’s Restaurant. The students also took part in their own Black History Program at BASCS. Students recognized African Americans who have done great things for this country. Mr. Riccio presented six students with certificates and gift cards as prizes for winning the Black History essay contest. read more....


Students at BASCS Observe HIV/AIDS Awareness with A Day of Silence

The silence represented the anger and frustration over the lives lost due to HIV/AIDS. In the days leading up to February 26th, BASCS students heard daily announcements giving statistics on the needless lives lost and other information specific to HIV/AIDS.read more....


BASCS Students Held a Bake Sale for Haiti Earthquake Victims

B.A.S.C.S Hosted First Annual Spelling Bee

On Wednesday, April 29th B.A.S.C.S hosted our First Annual Spelling Bee! It was a great success in addition to being an historic event. 17 students competitively spelled words in hopes of clinching the 1st place ribbon.
