First Annual Spelling Bee On Wednesday, April 29th B.A.S.C.S hosted our First Annual Spelling Bee! It was a great success in addition to being an historic event. 17 students competitively spelled words in hopes of clinching the 1st place ribbon. Eight rounds of "edge-of-your-seat" excitement produced our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Parents, students, teachers and staff looked on as Deion Ramsey (10th grade) took the grand prize and Lamont Cunningham and Kieara Wilson both 8th grades received 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. The other participants included: David Virgil, Kenisha Barrow, Anthony Merriweather, Mathew Daniels, Erica Madumere, Xavier Walker, Isaiah Neely, David Burt, Ayana Brown, Diamond Baty, Chela Brown, Tchalla Radford, Nate Hayles, and Sean Erickson.
